ABP is the largest ports group in the UK, providing essential gateways for trade and enabling green infrastructure essential for the UK’s energy transition. As the operator of 19 facilities, the business handles approximately 25% of UK seaborne trade. This transaction represents one of the largest UK infrastructure transactions announced this year.
Linklaters advised through a cross-practice team, led by partners from the firm’s market-leading Private Capital Infrastructure M&A practice in London, working alongside specialists from the Antitrust & Foreign Investment, Tax, Financing, Real Estate and Incentives teams.
Completion of the transaction is subject to certain conditions being satisfied and is expected to complete in H1 2027.
