Linklaters is delighted to announce that Erik Haas has joined the firm in New York as a partner in the firm’s rapidly growing U.S. Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice. Erik joins from Johnson & Johnson, where he served as world-wide vice president of litigation, leading the company through some of its most significant and complex legal challenges, including the litigation and resolution of one of the largest and most consequential mass torts in U.S. history. Erik’s arrival continues Linklaters’ ambitious expansion in the U.S., where the firm has grown its partnership by more than 75% since FY22 with the addition of elite teams across M&A, litigation, and finance.

Before joining Johnson & Johnson in 2020, Erik was a trusted outside counsel for the company for nearly three decades as a partner at a leading litigation firm. He also led the firm’s Complex Commercial, Structured Finance, and Securities Litigation groups, and False Claims Act and Whistleblower Defense practices. As a veteran trial lawyer, he has represented global companies across several industries in high-stakes litigation, board governance disputes, investigations, and crisis matters. Erik is a prominent voice on litigation policy and tort reform and has appeared before Congress on issues related to mass tort claims resolution.
