Appleby is pleased to announce that, subject to all necessary approvals being received, Michael Makridakis will relocate to Shanghai and become a partner of Appleby’s Hong Kong and Shanghai offices.
Michael joined Appleby as a Consultant in 2023, his upcoming transition to Partner, subject only to the receipt of all necessary approvals, reflects Appleby’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in Greater China, and delivering expert, tailored legal services for sophisticated dispute resolution across the Greater China.
Michael is an accredited insolvency and commercial litigation specialist with over 20 years of global litigation and arbitration expertise, his practice focuses upon cross-border insolvencies, distressed/contentious investment fund issues, shareholders’ rights and remedies, directors’ duties, audit and professional services claims, fraud claims, and related commercial litigation disputes. Michael spent 9 years practicing in the Cayman Islands and, upon relocation, will be the only offshore litigator in Mainland China who has been admitted in the Cayman Islands and practiced in the offshore jurisdictions.
