Established only two years ago, MoFo’s Energy and Infrastructure group in Singapore has since earned five new practice area rankings in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2022, IFLR1000 (31st Edition) and The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2022.
The group is led by MoFo’s Singapore-based projects and energy lawyers, Tessa Davis and Per Lindberg, who have built its strong reputation for advising investors on project financing, development, and M&A, in complex international renewable energy and LNG mandates, and other infrastructure projects in the region. The Singapore team is also focused on tech-driven renewables deals, leveraging the firm’s technology heritage.
The achievements of the Singapore team in 2022 and the value-add of years of hands-on experience in Southeast Asia are part of the continued growth and success of the wider Asia Energy and Infrastructure Group. The Singapore team works alongside MoFo’s market-leading Tokyo team on projects across the Asia-Pacific region and is supported by the firm’s wider global network on projects outside Asia. Despite relocating to Tokyo, Partner Jon Ornolfsson, who previously spent six years working in Singapore, continues to collaborate closely with the Singapore team, particularly on outbound Japan energy and infrastructure projects.
Practice head Tessa Davis has more than 20 years of experience in the financing of energy and infrastructure projects. One client testimonial highlights “her incredible breadth of experience across all kinds of projects, financings and restructuring situations, along with M&A and disputes,” adding that “she is commercially very astute and rigorous and has an uncanny ability to connect issues and potential risks or opportunities across complex and often seemingly unconnected agreements.”
Tessa has been recognized as a leading individual in Singapore for Projects & Infrastructure (International Firms) by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2022, a recommended lawyer in Singapore for Energy (Foreign Firms) by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2022, and a notable practitioner in Singapore for Project Development (Foreign Firms) by IFLR 1000.
Per Lindberg has further strengthened his well-earned reputation amongst his clients and in the market for outstanding technical skills, commercial awareness, and his ability to boil down complex legal issues in a manner that is easy to understand. Per has been recognized as a recommended lawyer in Singapore for Energy (Foreign Firms) by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2022.
