DivinaLaw Senior Partner Atty. Jose “Jay” Layug, Jr. was among the industry experts invited to ABS-CBN’s “The Energy Resilience Summit: Beyond the Strait of Hormuz.” The forum was held last March 20, 2026 and was hosted by ABS-CBN Anchor Alvin Elchico.
Atty. Layug was joined in the panel by Leyte Gov. Jericho Petilla, a former Secretary of Energy, and Mr. Raphael Capinpin, executive director of the Philippine Institute of Petroleum.
Atty. Layug shared his thoughts on how an aggressive demand side management approach can help the Philippines prolong its current oil supply, encouraging the use of electric vehicles and for more households to embrace the use of solar energy systems.
Atty. Layug is co-head of DivinaLaw’s Energy practice and is an Executive Board Member of the Philippine Energy Research and Policy Institute.
