DivinaLaw brought the warmth of Christmas to the Camillian Sisters’ Bahay Kanlungan ni Maria Domenica as the firm marked its fourth annual visit to the nursing home for the elderly and the handicapped.
The morning opened with postulants and novices of the Camilian Sisters singing hopeful Christmas carols and a Marian hymn.
The program continued with an encouraging message from Managing Partner Atty. Nilo T. Divina.
“Kahit may sakit, kahit mahirap, kahit may problema, kailangan nakangiti pa rin,” he shared. “Dahil si Jesus Christ, when he came here, he had nothing. Pinanganak sa sabsaban, but he brought joy to humanity. So kailangan parati tayong nakangiti, ang ngiting cheerful, always positive, because there’s always a reason for everything.
He wished everyone a Merry Christmas and said he already looks forward to seeing them again next year.
Among the residents, Lola Cayetana Paz expressed her gratitude on behalf of the community, saying their hearts were filled with joy from the visit and hoping that more people struggling with hardship may experience the same kindness.
Sister Elvira Dojinog also shared her thanks.
“Habang may buhay, may pag-asa. Marami pong mga lola ang natulungan, hindi lang po mga lola pero kami rin pong mga madre at pati na rin po ang mga caregivers sa binigay po ninyong mga regalo. Nagpapasalamat po ako dahil nandito po kayo at nagbibigay ng pag-asa, nagbibigay ng saya.”
DivinaLaw staff then performed songs while the caregivers presented a dance number. The lolas joined in, creating a lively shared celebration.
The program closed with gift-giving, where each lola received items from her personal wishlist, and the nursing home received equipment and supplies as well.
Looking ahead, Atty. Divina shared his plans for two more visits next year. He reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to making this an annual tradition, with hopes of offering even greater support to the nursing home through both material gifts and continued efforts to spread joy and hope to the community.
