SyCipLaw recently conducted a legal seminar and legal aid clinic for the benefit of indigent residents of Pasig City, in partnership with the Office of Pasig City Representative Roman T. Romulo. The initiative forms part of the Unified Legal Aid Service (ULAS) program of the Philippine Supreme Court, which mandates covered lawyers to provide legal assistance to underprivileged and indigent individuals.
Congressman Romulo thanked the participants for joining the activity and hoped the session would provide clarity on their pressing legal issues.
The seminar covered a range of topics tailored to the needs of the attendees. Associate Jose Maria C. Ramos began the seminar with a discussion on laws that dealt with crimes committed among family members. Associate Earl Anthony V. Bautista followed with a brief overview of inheritance and succession rights, while Associate Alija Rowie Schailey M. Pandapatan discussed land and property rights. The sessions were moderated by Senior Associate Ramon I. Rocha IV.
Following the presentations, attendees engaged in one-on-one consultations with 29 volunteer SyCipLaw lawyers, giving them the opportunity to receive guidance and advice on their specific concerns.
The Legal Aid Clinic reflects SyCipLaw’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact by extending meaningful and exceptional legal assistance to the community and country.
