SyCipLaw is pleased to announce the appointment of Benedicto “Benny” P. Panigbatan as the new Head of the Firm’s Corporate Services Department, effective February 1, 2026.
Benny, who has been a Partner of the Firm since 2012, is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Services, Special Projects, Tax, and Banking, Finance & Securities practice groups. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments, corporate structuring and reorganization, real estate joint ventures, securities regulation, tax treaty reliefs and tax assessments, and financing arrangements. He has advised and assisted in significant cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and divestments, including those involving Interglobe-IGT, Jobstreet.com/Seek Asia, Nippon Sanso Holdings, Prysmian Group, Creditcorp International, TANN Holding GmbH, Sara Lee Corporation, Bumrungrad International Limited, and Marubeni Corporation. He has also handled various real estate matters such as joint venture projects involving Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation and Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. (member-companies of the ICCP Group) as well as Arthaland Corporation, and portfolio real estate acquisitions by the Embassy of the United States in the Philippines.
Benny has served as a lecturer in the Supreme Court’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program and has contributed to the Firm’s professional development initiatives and international publications on corporate matters, real estate, and taxation, with the most recent one on Navigating Business Ventures in the Philippines. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) and the Tax Management Association of the Philippines (TMAP). He serves as corporate secretary or resident agent to companies across various industries.
