The 2nd edition of the LexTalk World Global Hybrid Conference was held at the Crowne Plaza, Deira, Dubai, on the 24th & 25th of March’ 2022. This hi profile knowledge and networking conference is one of the leading summits for the global legal industry.
It was organized by ClickAway Creators LLP & CAC Media & Events Inc a Canada based event and a 360 degrees online media organization. The modus operandi of the organization is to establish a business connection of global professionals from diverse industry domains while facilitating a culture of acquiring vital trending information and knowledge of the global industries.
ClickAway Creators currently has 2 business verticals, the BizzTalk World and LexTalk World connecting global professionals in the respective fields. BizzTalk World is a format which facilitates connectivity of Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Business Development, Client Servicing, Administration and Information Technology professionals and entrepreneurs from different parts of the world. LexTalk World on the other hand connects with global legal professionals.
Both the verticals have their individual conferences, digital magazines, and social media platforms which encapsulates the objective of connecting global professionals.
LexTalk World Global Hybrid Conference, Dubai, 24th & 25th of March’ 2022
On the first day (24th of the March’ 2022) of LexTalk World Global Hybrid Conference the day started with the participation of 1,000 global lawyers through the physical as well as the virtual platforms in a formal introduction of each other. It was followed by a Kynote Speech by Gaurav Mediratta, Group General Counsel, Landmark Group on Data Privacy and Compliance with a focus on the need for review for creation of standardized global legislative ecosystem with GDPR.
The second session was a keynote speech by Pooja Prabhakar, Managing Partner, BCP Associates LLP, on managing employment risks.
The third session was a case study presentation by Vania Tarkiainen, CEO, Data Privacy Consultors on Metaverse – a new challenge on the privacy of personal data. Metaverse is the latest innovation in customer engagement which includes complex algorithmic application of AV as a tool involving the virtual platter.
After the case study presentation, there was a session of conferring the global Lex Falcon Awards to the respected Awardees and followed by a networking session for the attendees.
The fifth was a Panel Discussion on Data Protection followed next with 4 participants – Wayne Barnett, Lead Senior Legal Counsel, SAP, Solomon Okedara, Partner, Solomon Okedara & Co, Payal Manhas, Group Lrgal Counsel, Landmark Group and Raghavendra Verma, of Group Head, Legal, Compliance, ISON Group.\
The sixth session was a case study presentation – Digital Transformation of Contracting Process by Aarthi Venkat.
The seventh and the eighth sessions were of 10-minutes each on topics – ESG Comes to the Forefront & Disclosure Adoption Requirements, by Matthew Nobles, Chief Compliance Officer, GE Gas Power and, UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Saeed Hasan Khan, Partner, S.U.Khan Associates Corporate & Legal Consultants.
After lunch, it was time for a Panel Discussion (eight and nineth): COVID-19 Force Majeure and Contract Issues dealt smartly by adopting AI. The tenth session was a Round Table Discussion on the topic – What Will GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) Look Like in 2022? An Anticipation Scenario. The same was attended by Ahmed Kandil, Regional Head Ethics and Compliance at Bausch Health Companies Inc., Manavendra Mishra, Partner, Khaitan & Co, Saloni Tuteja, Regional Legal and Business Conduct Counsel, Middle East, Gilead Sciences, Sameet Gambhir, Vice President (Corp. The first eventful day came to an end with a hi tea and networking session followed by the Lex Falcon Awards to some of the finest legal professionals from different corners of the world.
The second day, i.e., the 25th of March’ 22 started with usual one to one introduction followed by the first session of the day, keynote session: AI – The parameters and possibilities of error. Lawyers Vs. Artificial Intelligence. The session was convened by Dr. Yasser Abo Ismail, General Counsel & Compliance Officer at Schindler Group, UAE and Fayiaz Chaudhri, Head of Legal, Ekar.
The second and the third sessions were short individual presentations by Dr. Ajinkya Dagaonkar, Advocate on the future of legal profession: a global perspective and by Sachin Pujari, Founder & Managing Partner, SSP Legal Advocate & Solicitors on the topic – legal issues in joint venture.
It was followed by honouring the winners of the Lex Falcon Awards. After these activities, the fourth session of the day was held and that was an interesting panel discussion by Nitin Kumar Bhatnagar, Managing Partner, NKB Legal Advocates, Aditya Kamath, Advocate and Partner, BCP Associates & Balakrishna Gopalakrishnan Founder, BGK Law Associates on the topic – Mediation and Conciliation: Need of the hour; evolution of sophisticated mechanisms.
The fifth and the sixth sessions were on the topics – changing landscape of international dispute resolution during times of optimal globalisation’ – Scope for International law professionals by Dr. G. V. Rao, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India and a case study by Harish Malhotra, Partner, Waywode Jurists.
After lunch the seventh session was on the topic under discussion – Future of Arbitration and Mediation by Vidula Mehrotra, Senior Associate, Vardharma Chambers and Utsav Saxena, Associate, Vardharma Chambers.
The eighth and the nineth individual sessions were on topics – Development of Corporate Law – Lessons from a Journey of Evolution, Ali Asgher Khan, Founder and Managing Partner, Ali Khan Law Associates and CHANGING LANDSCAPE OF INVESTMENT TREATY ARBITRATIONS IN INDIA, by Lalltaksh Joshi, Litigation Counsel.
The 10th and the most high-profile speech were by Dr Sasmit Patra, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), India on the topic – India in the realm of international arbitration.
The 11th and the last session were a high profile round table discussion on the topic Tips, Best Practices and Hot Button Issues of Commercial Mediation & Arbitration. The day concluded with the conferring of the Lex Falcon Awards to the most distinguished Awardees. Lex Falcon Awards were given away to the most distinguished and finest legal professionals from different parts of the world. The conference was executed with exemplary distinction and the reviews from the participants were simply outstanding.
The next edition of the event was announced to be on the 18th & 19th of July’ 2022 at San Francisco, USA.
