Liverpool City Region business SeaKing Group has secured investment from Modutec, a specialist in the repair, conversion and newbuild of marine and offshore living quarters and technical buildings.
The investment by Modutec is set to create “an exciting opportunity for growth and collaboration” for the SeaKing Group.
Birkenhead-based electrical engineering group SeaKing provides hazardous area electrical services in the marine, defence, renewables and offshore sectors. Its 105-strong workforce undertakes major overhaul of assets through to minor maintenance activities.
The addition of SeaKing Group to Modutec’s expanding portfolio follows the recent integration of HVAC specialist CO-AT Marine, providing the business with the capability to offer fully integrated technical solutions to owners of high value assets across multiple geographies.
Partner Matt Noon and senior associate Alex Thow of Hill Dickinson’s Liverpool Corporate team advised SeaKing Group on the investment.
Matt Noon said: “This investment will provide SeaKing Group with the reach and resources to significantly scale up its specialist and market-leading solutions in the marine sector. It was a pleasure working with our clients and with the Modutec team to deliver a transaction which I have no doubt will be a great success for all involved.”
SeaKing Group managing director Martin Sealeaf added: “A special thanks to Matt and Alex at Hill Dickinson for their advice throughout the transaction. It was great to have them in our corner and we found them both to be very visible, pro-active and commercially focused throughout – they played a very significant role in getting this transaction over the line for us in good order.”
