Law firm Hill Dickinson has advised the majority shareholders of learning and development provider MBL Seminars on the sale of the business to Law Business Research, a global technology-enabled information services business.
MBL, which provides CPD and learning solutions to the professional services sector, delivers over 9000 course topics using a network of over 500 expert speakers. It operates a predominantly online and on-demand delivery model delivered to its subscriber base.
Acquisition of the business will give LBR access to MBL’s extensive online library, extending its reach within the legal and adjacent professional services sector and presenting multiple opportunities for commercial growth.
Advising the majority shareholders of MBL were corporate partners James Down and Ian Gillis, senior associate Olivia Jones, associate Miranda Foy and paralegals Alexandra Mak and Abigail Hill.
James Down said: “MBL is a fantastic local business and it’s been a pleasure advising on the legal aspects of the deal. Together, the combined businesses represent a growing force in the education and training sector for professional services and we look forward to seeing them embrace the significant growth opportunities that lie ahead.”
