Linklaters is thrilled to share that Lisa Chang, Corporate Partner, and Clare Baker, Investment Funds Partner, have been listed in Law.com’s Female Rising Stars 2024.
Lisa is an outstanding corporate lawyer who has a track record in advising some of the firm’s key clients. Lisa has a deal-making track record which resonates in the market and has seen her instructed on some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in recent years, including the proposed sale of The Telegraph and The Spectator. Her practice is multi-faceted, advising across the full spectrum of corporate work including M&A, private capital fundraisings for high growth tech companies, complex reorganisations, carve-outs and joint venture transactions.
Lisa has a passion for technology and plays an active role on Linklaters’ GenAI Steering Committee and as a UK Technology Sector Leader. She helped partner with Softbank Vision Fund on their Emerge initiative, a pioneering tech accelerator programme with a focus on amplifying investment channels for female and other underrepresented tech entrepreneurs.
Clare leads Linklaters’ Global Investor Practice, which grew to representing the largest and most sophisticated investors in their investments totalling over US$30bn across 165+ fund investments, co-investments, SMAs and secondary transactions in 2023. Clare’s stellar market reputation is underpinned by her work on ultra-high-net-worth and complex deals.
Clare’s passion for supporting working parents stems from the challenges faced having two young children while on the partnership track. She spearheaded the introduction of Linklaters’ 12 weeks paid parental leave, which now exists alongside the firm’s existing six month shared parental leave policy to allow working fathers better access to paid parental leave, and led the introduction of Linklaters’ UK Adjustment Days policy which was rolled out in 2022.
Lisa is a mentor for Linklaters’ “Stepping Forward” programme to support young female lawyers, while Clare is a sponsor partner on Linklaters’ Women’s Leadership Programme to support senior female lawyers and a sponsor partner for Linklaters’ Race Action Plan, to support black and minority ethnic lawyers at Linklaters.
