Withers’ global Library and Knowledge Services team has won the LexisNexis Award for Excellence 2024 at the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL) conference. The award recognises outstanding performance and dedicated service in the field of legal information services.
The award celebrates the team’s commitment to teamwork, innovation and client service. Particular recognition was given to their strengths and achievements including:
- Global collaboration: The team has built strong ties across regions, sharing knowledge through regular inter-regional team calls, monthly global meetings and informal catch ups over WhatsApp and other social platforms. They even organized a team virtual reality meeting to enhance connectivity.
- Client-centric approach: They regularly collaborate to answer legal research or business development enquiries, manage resources effectively across regions or share information about legal tech products, including best practice and user experience.
- Library catalogue project: the team recently completed a two-year project to implement a globally accessible library catalogue. Effective communication and seamless coordination across the global team were crucial to the project’s success.
Claire Greening, global head of libraries and knowledge at Withers, comments: “We are delighted to receive this award, which reflects the collaborative culture across our global team and the value that we place on teamwork and people. By working together, we have successfully implemented a globally accessible library catalogue for the firm – the first stage of our Knowledge Innovation project. Congratulations to the team for this well-deserved recognition.
