The Orange County Bar Association has selected Crowell & Moring partner Rick McNeil as the recipient of its 2022 Harmon G. Scoville Lifetime Achievement Award. Established over 30 years ago, this prestigious award is presented annually to a member of the Orange County legal community whose career exemplifies the highest standards of the legal profession, who is widely known as a champion of the constitutional system of justice, and who has made significant contributions to the OCBA and its community. McNeil will receive the award at the OCBA Volunteer Recognition Reception, which will be held on October 11.
McNeil is a partner in the firm’s Environment & Natural Resources and Litigation & Trial groups. He is a trial attorney with numerous jury, bench, and administrative trials to his credit, particularly in the areas of environmental, land use, tort and product liability, real estate, and business litigation. McNeil’s environmental experience spans nearly all aspects of federal and California law, and a substantial focus of his practice involves cases regarding personal injury or property damage claimed to be the result of exposure to various toxins.
McNeil was appointed a member of the City of Newport Beach Water Quality and Coastal Tidelands Committee and is also a member of the Board of Directors for Legal Aid of Orange County. He is co-chair of the OCBBA’s Diversity Committee and just completed a six-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the OCBA.
