The Government of Uzbekistan has decided to implement the National Green Taxonomy as part of the strategy to transition to a green” economy by 2030. This decision involves the development of a classification system for “green” activities aimed at enhancing the efficiency of natural resource utilisation and reducing negative impacts on the environment. According to the new taxonomy, all “green” projects financed by “green” bonds and loans will undergo classification as part of an experimental initiative. The taxonomy experiment is scheduled to run until October 1, 2024.
