We are excited to share that Nonnabhat (Niab) Paiboon has joined us as a corporate partner in Bangkok starting from 31 August 2022. She adds specialist M&A and competition/anti-trust law expertise to Asia, enhancing our offering for both domestic Thailand and cross-border transactions with her dual qualification in Thailand and England & Wales. Niab’s arrival is our firm’s latest development in expanding our Southeast Asia corporate practice, where our client and M&A market activity levels remain strong.
Niab has over 12 years’ of experience advising clients on complex public and private M&A transactions in a wide range of sectors, some highlights of her work include advising
- Tesco plc on the sale of Tesco’s entire interest in its business in Thailand to C.P. Group which was the largest corporate acquisition ever in Thailand in 2020
- Engie Global Developments B.V. on the disposal of its entire 69.1% interest in Glow Energy. This was Thailand’s largest completed M&A deal and Asia’s largest M&A deal in the power sector for 2018-19
- TMB Bank Public Company Limited on its approximate USD5.5bn merger with Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited, marking the largest bank merger in Thailand
