Following a surge of reports over the last few weeks, the FBI warned the public on August 7th about a new extortion method that uses specific user information to add authenticity. The bulk of the reports claim to have captured embarrassing videos of users watching porn after remotely gaining access to their webcams.
Devon Ackerman, Associate Managing Director in our Cyber Risk practice, spoke to the Philadelphia Inquirer about this global sextortion campaign and warns users to be skeptical.
