It is less than one week before the Personal Information Protection Law (the “PIPL”), mainland China’s new privacy law, will come into force on 1 November 2021. Industry commentators expect the new law to have a significant impact on the day-to-day operations of both domestic and international businesses in mainland China.
Given the large amount of personal information handled in daily human resources management, HR functions will need to change their practices to ensure compliance.
