Eversheds Sutherland welcomes Matthew Honeyben to its partnership
Eversheds Sutherland has appointed Matthew Honeyben as Partner within its Global Energy Group. Matthew brings with him over 12 years of energy, projects and infrastructure experience.
Matthew advises clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on project finance, project development, joint ventures, and acquisitions and disposals involving power, infrastructure, energy and natural resources in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He advises sponsors, lenders, export credit agencies and development finance institutions on a wide range of innovative and award-winning transactions in both domestic markets and across the world.
In particular, Matthew will work closely with Robert Pitcher, Partner and Eversheds Sutherland’s Co-Head of Global Energy, to grow the team’s nuclear energy practice.
He joins from a boutique law firm focussing on energy and infrastructure projects, where he has been Managing Associate since 2018. Prior to this, Matthew worked within Norton Rose Fulbright’s Energy & Projects team, and, before that, in Linklaters’ Energy & Infrastructure team in London and Hong Kong. Matthew joins Eversheds Sutherland’s London office on 4 May 2021.

I look forward to working alongside him as we continue to grow the practice.”

“I am delighted to be joining such a highly skilled and diverse team as I seek to further strengthen my client relationships in London and the Middle East. The Eversheds Sutherland team is well respected across all corners of the energy and infrastructure sectors and I look forward to working with Robert Pitcher to develop the firm’s already impressive nuclear energy capabilities and to contribute to the wider success of the Global Energy Group.”
Matthew is joined from his former firm by Peter Greenall, as Principal Associate. Peter will also join the Global Energy Group and will continue to work closely with Matthew and the wider team to grow Eversheds Sutherland’s energy sector capability and experience.
