Hogan Lovells is supporting Out Leadership's two-day conference in Hong Kong which explores the role of business in advancing LGBT equality.
Held on the 8 and 9 December, Out Leadership's Asia Leadership Summit and Emerging Leaders' Breakfast will bring together senior Asia Pacific business leaders and prominent LGBT champions to discuss partnerships between businesses and local advocacy groups.
Hogan Lovells has pioneered the promotion and advancement of LGBT equality in Asia within the legal services sector. The firm participated in the first ever annual LGBT Corporate Diversity & Inclusion Conference in Shanghai and launched an internal Asia LGBT network in 2012, whilst also contributing to Community Business' LGBT-focused resource guide on "Creating Inclusive Workplaces for LGBT Employees in China".
Earlier this year Hogan Lovells hosted a high-profile panel discussion on the business, cultural and political issues affecting the LGBT community in Hong Kong featuring esteemed speakers such as Regina Ip, member of the Legislative Council and Executive Council, Dr York Chow, chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, and Reggie Ho, co-founder and former chairman of Pink Alliance.
Commenting on our involvement with Out Leadership's conference, Sharon Lewis, Global Head of Hogan Lovells' Finance Practice and member of the firm's Global Diversity and Inclusion Committee said:
"The goals of Out Leadership's Asia Leadership Summit and Emerging Leaders' Breakfast are strongly aligned with Hogan Lovells' mission to create an environment where diversity and inclusivity thrive. Diversity is core to the firm's vision and values, enabling all of our people to play their part in the firm's success."
Eugene Chen, founder of Hogan Lovells' Asia LGBT network and regional representative of the firm's Global Diversity and Inclusion Committee added:
"The promotion and advancement of LGBT equality in Asia can be more challenging than in the U.S. or Europe. At Hogan Lovells we believe LGBT equality is critical to our business in Asia. It is an area where we have demonstrated a pioneering and progressive approach across the region, so it is fitting that we are supporting Out Leadership's conference, where we hope to share our experiences."
