8 January, 2020
Deacons, Hong Kong’s longest established and largest law firm, has strengthened the firm with three new partner appointments, effective from 1 January, 2020.
All three partners were previously senior associates who have been promoted to the partnership. They include Canny Lau from the corporate finance practice, Ming Chiu Li and Pinky Siu from the investment funds practice. Their dedication to the firm, coupled with exceptional individual qualities strengthen our market-leading offering and continue to enhance our position as Hong Kong’s own world-class law firm.
These appointments bring the total number of partners to 54, cementing Deacons’ position as Hong Kong’s largest law firm.
The promotions reflect Deacons’ continued investment and commitment to providing clients with top quality talent, and ensure the firm further strengthens its capabilities in the key areas of investment funds and corporate finance. These appointments follow the hire of partner Benjamin Choi, an experienced trademarks lawyer who joined our intellectual property practice in September.
Below are key details of the new partner appointments:
Canny Lau, Partner, Corporate Finance
Canny is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and focuses on corporate finance and securities work. Her experience spans the full spectrum of corporate finance and includes initial public offerings, secondary issues, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructurings, as well as local and cross border joint ventures.
