WEBINAR
Tuesday, February 11th, 2020
02:30 PM IST
With a view to limit multiplicity of employment legislations in India and to keep regulations in sync with the requirements of the evolving labour market, the Indian Government has sought to consolidate 44 central employment laws into 4 labour codes
(a) Code on Industrial Relations,
(b) Code on Social Security,
(c) Code on Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions, and
(d) Code on Wages.
The Code on Wages, 2019 was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and received the Presidential assent on August 8, 2019. It subsumes the provisions of 4 central labour legislations, i.e. the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, the Bonus Act, 1965 and the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976. While this Code has been published in the Official Gazette, it has not been brought into effect.
Join us to hear from our experts, Nohid Nooreyezdan (Senior Partner at AZB & Partners) and Apeksha Mattoo (Senior Associate at AZB & Partners) on the impact that the Code on Wages, 2019 will have on your organisation and the immediate steps that your organisation would have to take in order to be compliant with the Code on Wages, 2019.
The webinar will be moderated by Veena Gopalakrishnan (Partner at AZB & Partners).
