Pursuant to the Central Government’s Unlock II guidelines which, while reopening activities in areas outside containment zones, extended the lockdown in containment zones up to July 31, 2020, various state governments implemented guidelines in consonance with the same. Additionally, the following cities have announced a complete lockdown in their territories to contain the spread of the coronavirus :

8 PM on July 14 to 5 AM on July 22, 2020 |
Issued a prohibitory order under Sec. 144 of the CrPC, in pursuance of the lockdown order in Bengaluru city. |

Phase I: July 14 to July 18, 2020 |
The order inter alia states the following: a. E-commerce activities will be shut during Phase I; b. All essential and non-essential shops will be closed during Phase I, except dairy, medical shops and hospitals, banks, ATMs etc. c. IT companies are allowed to operate with 15% staff; d. Private establishments will remain closed in Phase I & II; and e. Movement of persons is allowed only for essential activities and services. |

July 9, 2020 till July 19, 2020 |
Within the broader containment zones (containment zones + buffer zones, as may be notified), following activities will not be allowed: a. All offices – government and private; b. All non-essential activities; c. All congregations; d. All transportations; e. All marketing / industrial/ trading activities.Residents of containment zones may be exempted and prohibited from attending government and private offices. |

July 6, 2020 till July 31, 2020 |
Permitted activities in districts of Tiruvallur, Chengalpet, and Kancheepuram (except containment zones) inter alia include the following: a. All industries and export oriented units with 100% strength; b. IT/ITeS with 100% strength with at least 20% to work from home; c. Private offices with 100% strength. However, work from home shall be encouraged to the extent possible; d. Vegetable and other provision shops between 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; e. Delivery of all goods, including non-essential goods through e-commerce;Permitted activities in Greater Chennai Police limits (except containment zones) inter alia include the following: a. IT/ITeS companies to work with 50% strength, subject to 90% employees using company arranged transport facilities. However, work from home to be encouraged. (with effect from July 13, 2020); b. All private offices, industrial establishments and export units with 50% strength. However, work from home shall be encouraged to the extent possible; c. Vegetable and other provision shops between 6:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. |

Permitted activities inter alia include: a. Essential grocery shops, bakeries, milk booths within the prescribed schedule; b. Banking services (other than NBFCs) with 50% strength; c. All public and private offices to work from home; d. IT services in Technopark with essential staff; e. Hospitals and medical services; f. No door delivery of items except medicines and food from the specified places; g. Construction of basic infrastructure like highways, roads, h. Media offices, data centers operators and telecom operators with minimum staff. |

Effective from July 16, 2020 till July 31, 2020 |
The order inter alia states that: a. Commercial and private establishments will be closed, except inter alia IT/ITeS, banks, insurance offices, ATMs, e-commerce, etc.; b. Hospital and all medical related establishments will be allowed to function; c. All transport services will be suspended except as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Railway, Air and Rail transport. d. Private vehicles will be allowed for permitted activities; e. Industrial establishments will be allowed to open with strict implementation of safety and social distancing measures. In urban areas, such establishments will work in situ; f. All other activities outside the containment zones will be regulated as per the Unlock II guidelines and the guidelines issued by the Government of Bihar. |
