ANNUAL REPORT UNDER THE ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT ACT – AUGUST 14, 2020 DATE FOR SUBMISSION
August 14, 2020 is the last date by which the annual report is to be submitted by the internal committee of every establishment as per the mandate issued by the District Women and Child Development Office, Mumbai. The report for the year 2019 is to be submitted in the format set out in the circular through the employer with the District Officer, Mumbai on dwcdmumbai@gmail.com.
As you may be aware, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013 has been introduced to combat and redress the issue of workplace sexual harassment against women. The legislation requires every employer having 10 or more employees (including workers engaged through a contractor) to set up an internal committee to receive, investigate and redress grievances of workplace sexual harassment in a confidential and time bound manner. The statute prescribes the constitution and quorum for the committee, process and timelines for the inquiry and obligations of the employer and the committee, including submission of the annual report.
