Public Consultation Open: Draft CRI Guidelines 2025!
The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) is seeking inputs on the Draft Guidelines for Examination of Computer-Related Inventions (CRI), 2025. This is a crucial opportunity for stakeholders and the public to contribute to the evolution of CRI guidelines.

– Comprehensive interpretation of legal provisions based on recent case laws relating to Section 3(k).
– Detailed guidelines and relevant case laws for checking the novelty and inventive step of CRIs.
– A structured 5-step test for inventive step assessment.
– In-depth explanation of the sufficiency of disclosure requirements.
– Practical examples demonstrating the concept of technical effect/advancement.
– 10 examples of patentable CRI inventions and 10 examples of non-patentable CRI inventions to provide predictability to applicants.
