King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is delighted to announce the continued growth of the Hong Kong partnership with the addition of Ashley Wong, effective from 15 January 2019, and Wang Yu who will be joining in February.

Ashley Wong (Banking & Finance) joins from Mayer Brown and will be responsible for leading the Hong Kong aviation practice. She has over 15 years of experience in aviation matters, advising airlines, leasing companies, maintenance and repair organisations and other market players in the aviation industry on a wide range of areas including aircraft portfolio acquisitions and disposals, pre-delivery payments financing, sale and lease-back arrangements, acquisitions and disposals of new and used aircraft and engines, dry leasing and wet leasing of aircraft, long-term airframe and engine maintenance arrangements and other commercial arrangements.
Richard Mazzochi, Partner and Head of Banking & Finance practice of KWM Hong Kong said, “Ashley’s extensive track record and sector experience will complement our international aviation practice. Her language capabilities will enable her to work effectively on transactions involving both international and Chinese entities.”
Wang Yu (Corporate & Securities) will be joining from a U.S. international law firm in February to strengthen our U.S. capital markets capabilities. He has more than 10 years of experience advising on securities offerings, private equity and other corporate transactions. Yu represents corporate clients, investment banks and private equity funds on transactional matters including capital markets, private equity and financial derivative products.
Dr. Sheldon Tse, Partner and Head of Corporate & Securities Practice of KWM Hong Kongsaid, “Yu’s experience advising Chinese and international clients on U.S. capital markets transactions will add to our unique strength in offering one-stop-shop support in respect of Hong Kong, PRC, and U.S. legal advice.”
These appointments follow the expansion of the Hong Kong office in July 2018, with the promotion of four partners, eight counsels and senior associates, along the addition of two senior lawyers.
