Brian Law has been appointed as Managing Partner of LAW Partnership. The firm issued a statement today, adding that Law’s three-year appointment began on 1 March 2021.
Law co-founded the firm with partner Suaran Singh Sidhu in 2019 primarily as a specialist boutique, focussing on Intellectual Property and the technology sector. The firm’s achievements were recognised by Asian Legal Business when it won the ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2019 ‘Rising Law Firm of the Year’.
The firm has grown over the past two years to include partner-led litigation and employment teams alongside the IP and tech practices. Brian noted:
“We will shortly be announcing new senior appointments to the team. This marks the next stage of our strategy to become the premier ‘New Law’ firm in Malaysia.”
In his new role, Brian will combine management responsibilities with acting for clients on high-profile IP & technology, internal and regulatory investigations, and transactional work.
Brian commented:
“This is a very exciting time for LAW Partnership.
The post-COVID outlook is positive, with pent-up demand in a number of sectors in SE Asia, Asia more generally and around the world. The growing number of deals being announced in the regional and global healthcare and technology sectors are just two examples of this renewed activity.
Our relationship with Eversheds Sutherland is an important element of our growth strategy and we look to the future with optimism.”
Stephen Kitts, Managing Partner, Asia, Eversheds Sutherland, commented:
“I congratulate Brian on his appointment as Managing Partner.
LAW Partnership is an important member of ESAPA, the Eversheds Sutherland Asia Pacific Alliance. This group of leading firms works in collaboration with Eversheds Sutherland, so clients receive consistent service and support in over 40 jurisdictions across the region.
We look forward to working more closely with Brian and LAW Partnership following his appointment.”
