Introduction
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced earlier today that the enforcement date for corporate liability under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act remains unchanged and will take effect on 1st June 2020.
Section 17A of the MACC Act pertains to the enforcement of the principle of corporate liability involving commercial organisations, and criminalises organisations for corrupt practices performed by associated persons in the interest of the organisation.
With this, the Government is committed to tackle corruption, improve integrity and implement good governance.
