Our Technology, Media & Telco partners Timothy Siaw and Janet Toh, and associates Boo Cheng Xuan and Hon Yee Neng, have co-authored the Malaysian chapter of the International Comparative Legal Guides — Telecoms, Media & Internet 2023. The chapter provides a broad overview of the telecoms, media, and Internet sectors and their regulation in Malaysia.
The chapter also considers recent developments to this area of law brought about by the Spectrum Plan 2022, Communications and Multimedia Content Code 2022, Copyright (Amendment) Act 2022, among others, as well as potential regulatory developments in light of Bank Negara Malaysia’s Exposure Draft on Cloud Technology Risk Assessment Guideline, which was released for public feedback in June 2022.
