18 June 2020
On June 18, 2020, Managing Intellectual Property revealed the winners of its annual Asia-Pacific Awards, which recognize the top IP firms in the Asia-Pacific region based on the results of extensive market research and client and peer interviews. While the awards are typically presented in person at a formal, black-tie ceremony, this year’s edition was announced online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tilleke & Gibbins was honored to be recognized by Managing IP for an impressive four awards, earning trophies in the following categories:
Regional Awards
- Asia-Pacific Patent Firm of the Year
- Asia-Pacific Trademark Firm of the Year
National Awards
- Thailand Contentious Firm of the Year
- Vietnam Firm of the Year
For the regional awards, Tilleke & Gibbins competed with the biggest and best firms throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region, from Australia to China, making the two wins an especially noteworthy achievement for a firm from the smaller legal markets of Southeast Asia.
On the national level, the firm continued a run of success at the Managing IP Awards, nabbing its seventh straight (and eighth overall) Firm of the Year award for Vietnam, and its ninth award overall for Thailand, including seven Firm of the Year awards before the jurisdiction was divided into Contentious and Prosecution categories last year.
Managing IP is one of the world’s top intellectual property publications, in print and online, and is best known for its highly regarded IP Stars firm rankings and annual awards, which are now divided into separate Asia-Pacific, EMEA, and Americas ceremonies
