Morrison & Foerster received three awards at the 17th annual Asian Legal Business (ALB) Japan Law Awards 2021. The awards honor the achievements of Japan’s leading private practice law firms, in-house teams, and individual practitioners. Morrison & Foerster was awarded:
-
International Intellectual Property (IP) Law Firm of the Year
-
Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Firm of the Year; and
-
Real Estate Deal of the Year for Blackstone's Acquisition of Daiwa House's Logistics Centers
For many years, our Tokyo office has been recognized as one of the leading advisors in the technology and telecommunications space. We help clients achieve success by advising on transformational strategic transactions that allow them to acquire new technologies and enter new markets. For example, we are advising SoftBank Group Corp. and SoftBank Vision Fund in the $40 billion sale of UK-headquartered multinational semiconductor and software design company Arm Limited to U.S. chip company NVIDIA.
With the largest dedicated IP team of any international firm in Japan, we offer, in both Japanese and English, a full range of IP services, from patent analysis to technology development and licensing, to adversarial licensing, cross licensing, and preparation and defense of litigation.
As part of a team who won the Real Estate Deal of the Year, we are able to offer clients a team of more than 20 dedicated real estate lawyers, including 15 Japan-qualified lawyers. This not only makes us the largest team of any international firm in Japan, it allows us to provide seamless service for a wide variety of transactions, including logistics facilities.
Further to these wins, Morrison & Foerster was a finalist across nine firm and deal categories.
