Recently, Asian Legal Businesses (ALB) released its list of the 2017 ALB China Top 15 IP Lawyers. Well-known for her outstanding work in some quite influential IP cases including the retrial case of “If You Are The One” (“非诚勿扰”), JunHe’s Ms. XU, Chumeng (Jessica) has been named as one of ALB China’s 2017 Top 15 IP Lawyers for the second time.
Jessica is in charge of JunHe’s Trademark team and has an excellent reputation in this field, as well as earning great trust from her clients. Some cases handled by Jessica have been named by the Supreme Court in their list of Top 10 IP Cases, as well as being listed in the Top 20 Appeal Cases by the China Trademark Review and Adjudication Board, etc.
Jessica was previously awarded this honor in 2015 and this is her second time to be honored as one of ALB China’s Top 15 IP Lawyers, which indicates her strong competence in this field. Her competency has also won her professional awards from major media organizations as well as favorable comments from her clients. Additionally, she has been selected as one of 2018’s Leading Lawyers by Asialaw Profiles. She has also been consecutively honored as Asia’s Leading Trademark Lawyer by Chambers Asia Awards, an IP Star by MIP (Managing Intellectual Property) and a leading practitioner (tier 1) by the World Trademark Review (WTR 1000).
Jessica joined JunHe in 2013 and currently practices at our Beijing office. From 1997 – 2013 she worked at the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office, as the deputy director of the Trademark Division. As an IP lawyer, she has handled thousands of IP cases and has extensive experience in the area of IP litigation, prosecution and enforcement and possesses a thorough understanding of Chinese laws relating to trademark, copyright and anti-unfair competition. Jessica’s clients hail from many sectors, including motor manufacturing, hotels, apparel, luxury goods, technology, food and beverages, charity funds and organizations, retail and healthcare companies, as well as entertainment companies.
Jessica is adept at handling complicated IP cases and has successfully assisted clients in obtaining recognition of well-known trademarks by the trademark authorities and the court, including BMW, JEEP, BUICK and Mary Kay.
