DivinaLaw senior partners Atty. Jose “Jay” M. Layug, Jr. and Atty. Richie Avigale Ramos-Pilares recently took part in a high-level roundtable which brought together regulators, utilities, electric cooperatives, consumer advocates, and financial experts to address electric price volatility and discuss risk-management tools designed to protect consumers and support long-term power sector investment.
The event was organized by Power Philippines and Green Tiger Markets.
Atty. Ramos-Pilares shared her insights during the panel discussion on “Voice of the Consumer: Firsthand Perspectives on the Consequences of Bill Shock” moderated by Atty. Ina Magpale-Asirit, former Commissioner of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
Atty. Layug spoke during the panel discussion on “Legal/Regulatory Perspective on Financial Hedging – DUs/EC Ability to Utilize Financial Hedging” moderated by Mr. Oliver Pearson, Green Tiger Markets head of Asia Pacific and general counsel.
Atty. Layug and Atty. Ramos-Pilares co-head DivinaLaw’s Energy practice and both serve as Executive Board Members of the Philippine Energy Research and Policy Institute (PERPI).
