IP Astra, a Bangalore based boutique IP firm led by C R Jacob has merged its practice with LexOrbis, a 20 year old full service IP firm that opened its offices in Bangalore in 2015. LexOrbis Bangalore earlier acquired the practice of Inolyst, led by IP enthusiast Dilip Kumar. Through Inolyst acquisition, LexOrbis Bangalore added 5 well groomed IP professionals including patent agents and a leadership role for Dilip Kumar and now with the acquisition of IP Astra, LexOrbis Bangalore Office strength has increased to 20 highly qualified IP professionals with wide domain expertise. LexOrbis offers deep expertise in formulating IP strategies, drafting new patent cases, filing and prosecution of IP applications in India and globally and strategizing and handling IP litigations across the country through a team of 65 professionals including lawyers, patent agents and engineers across its offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The merger has effected from July 3, 2017 and will further enhance LexOrbis’s Bangalore Office capabilities to provide high quality IP services to a wide range of industries including technology start-ups, SMEs and development centres of Indian and global companies in South India.
C R Jacob, the founder of IP Astra and an alumnus of Vellore Institute of Technology and equipped with an executive management program from IIM Calcutta, is an enthusiastic IP professional with rich experience of over a decade of closely working with the industry and academia to drive their global IP strategies and for writing high quality patent applications. Jacob has taken a role of IP strategist with LexOrbis- Bangalore.
