On 11 October 2023, the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) announced that it has revised the Examination Guidelines for Patent Applications to incorporate guidance on corrections arising from the Singapore High Court (“High Court”) decision in Nippon Shinyaku Co, Ltd v Registrar of Patents [2022] SGHC 164. Revisions have also been made to clarify specific areas of guidance, including double patenting and examination of applications relating to antibodies.
