Speakers and delegates explored the intersection of global data protection with local and regional trends and regulations.

 

With data localisation on the rise around the world, the importance of cross-border data flows was among top themes. Also, prominent was the incoming age of accountability and the data governance controls required to prove legal compliance and maintain the trust of consumers.

 

The forum was a great opportunity for the Deacons’ team to network with other IAPP delegates, Privacy Commissioners and Ministry representatives in Asia. The Deacons’ team also had a quality discussion with the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner regarding the proposed amendments to the Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

 

The IAPP Asia Privacy Forum 2019 gathers regulators and global data protection professionals from throughout the region for the APAC conference focusing on operational best practices.

本行合伙人朱敏慧律师连同知识产权部同事出席了于7月15至16日在星加坡举行的2019年IAPP 亚洲私隐论坛。

 

该论坛有450多名私隐专业人士参与该论坛，其中包括菲律宾国家私隐委员会、星加坡个人资料保护委员会以及香港个人资料私隐专员公署等的代表。

 

主讲者及会议代表探讨了全球资料保护与本地及地区趋势及规例的交汇情况。随着数据本地化在世界各地的兴起，跨境数据流的重要性成为首要主题之一。同样热门的讲题是即将来临的问责时代以及证明合规性和维护消费者的信任所需的资料治理控制措施。

 

 

该论坛为的近律师行的团队提供了绝佳的机会，藉此可与来自亚洲地区的其他IAPP 会议代表、私隐专员公署及部门的代表交流联谊。的近律师行的团队亦与香港私隐专员公署，就对香港《个人资料（私隐）条例》作出拟议的修订，进行了高质量的讨论。
