Skadden is advising The Japan Atomic Power Company — a Japanese nuclear power construction, development and operating company — in its partnership, announced April 13 2017, with Exelon Generation to establish joint venture company JExel Nuclear. The joint venture company will license and deploy the Exelon Nuclear Management Model (ENMM) in major nuclear power projects around the world. The first client for the joint venture is Horizon Nuclear Power, a Hitachi-owned company in the UK currently developing two advanced nuclear reactors at the Wylfa Newydd site in Wales.
The Skadden team includes partner Mitsuhiro Kamiya, Gaikokuho-jimu-bengoshi associate Nels Hansen, Bengoshi associate Yukie Nakagawa, associate Louis Artime and law clerk David Park (New York), and counsel Robert Warnement (Washington, D.C.). All of the lawyers are based in Tokyo unless otherwise noted.
