The corporate team of Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has advised on several high-profile transactions during the second quarter of 2016, with an aggregate value in excess of US$500 million. Recently closed deals include acting for:
Myanmar Investments International Limited on various matters, including in respect of Overseas Private Investment Corporation's initial disbursement of a US$250 million loan to Apollo Towers Myanmar Limited. This follows on from the syndicated US$30 million equity investment led by MIL into Apollo Towers in July 2015. Tom Platts (partner), Allan Tan (partner), Helen Rhind-Hufnagel (of-counsel), Mark Stephens (associate), Jason Yang (senior associate), Kyaw Zin Htet (associate) and Ngo Qiao Wen (associate) advised.
Yoshinoya on the acquisition of Yoshinoya (S) Pte Ltd, which operates a Japanese fast food restaurant chain in Singapore known for its "beef bowls". The deal closed on 30 June 2016. Elaine Beh (partner), Dushyantha Perera (associate) and Ngo Qiao Wen advised.
Quantum Pacific Shipping on the disposal of a 49.5% stake in six new-build mega container vessels to Ocean Yield ASA in an equity investment of approximately US$162 million. The deal closed on 30 June 2016. Tom Platts and Mark Stephens advised.
General Mills on the simultaneous corporate restructuring of its Häagen-Dazs business in Singapore and Malaysia. Tom Platts, Allan Tan, Emma Nicholls (senior associate), Helen Rhind-Hufnagel and Ngo Qiao Wen advised.
