The Taoyuan Prosecutor’s Office decided on September 8, 2017 to indict five former employees of Inotera Memories Inc. (now became “Micron Technology Taiwan”) for misappropriation of Micron’s trade secrets.
The prosecutor found that the defendants had illegally obtained Micron’s trade secrets relating to DRAM production process while still working at Micron and that after leaving Micron, had brought such trade secrets to their new jobs in Hefei Innotron Memory, Inc. and Yangtze Memory Technology Corp., both in China.
The prosecutor therefore found that all the individuals committed the crime of trade secret misappropriation under the Trade Secret Act for misappropriating Micron’s trade secrets with the intention to use in China.
The case is now pending before the Taoyuan District Court. Tsar & Tsai represents Micron as the complainant in this case.
