Introduction
COVID-19 and the recent lockdowns have severely impacted the Australian building and construction sector in 2020. This has added to difficulties that were already being felt in some markets, particularly the building of apartments. This webinar will examine why we are where we are in 2020, where we expect to be going in 2021, and where and when we anticipate the rebound in building and construction activity to kick in. We will explore the big picture and the detail in key construction market segments and states across Australia.
Overview
In this national webinar series, FTI Consulting's Kerry Barwise, David Kwong, Dan Bunting, Ross Blakeley, Glen Smith, James Rogers and Stephen Rae will explore the current and future economic landscape for building and construction in Australia. We will cover recent developments and trends, as well as potential risks and opportunities in the sector, as revealed in a recent report published by the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF).
Tailored for decision-makers working across building and construction, residential and commercial property, as well as infrastructure provision, mining and resources development, our discussion will include: a review of the latest statistics informing the current state of markets across building and construction; the key drivers that are shaping what is likely to happen next; and developments which are expected over the next 2-3 years, and in the longer term, for both national and state-by-state outlooks across Australia.
The webinar will draw on our forecasters' expertise and those familiar with the day-to-day realities of business in the building and construction markets of Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Our presenters will provide insight from across our economics, corporate finance, valuations, and construction litigation support practice areas.
