DivinaLaw Senior Partner Atty. Jay Layug recently joined a townhall discussion themed “Powering the Future: Accelerating Grid Modernization for Energy Security and Sustainable Development.” The event was held online via Zoom and was organized by the Philippine Business for Environmental Stewardship (PBEST), in partnership with the Stratbase ADR Institute.
The event highlighted the relevance of renewable energy in achieving energy security and resiliency, fostering economic development, and contributing to the national goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Atty. Layug took part in a panel discussion with fellow speakers Atty. Karry Sison, co-convenor of Bantay Konsyumer, Kalsada, Kuryente, and Atty. Pedro “Pete” Maniego, Jr., senior policy advisor for Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities. Ms. Nazrin Camille Castro, manager of Climate Reality Project Philippines, served as moderator.
Atty. Layug co-heads DivinaLaw’s Energy practice and is also co-chairman of the Renewable Energy Efficiency Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.
