DivinaLaw Partner Atty. Jay-r C. Ipac recently took part in the National Workshop on the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR) organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bureau of International Trade Relations, in collaboration with the the DTI E-Commerce Bureau.
The UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR) is a uniform model law that has been adopted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in 2017.
Atty. Ipac was part of a panel of speakers which discussed the legal and regulatory readiness for the implementation of MLETR in the Philippines.
Atty. Ipac was joined on the panel by Mr. Jonathan T. Soriano (chief of the Bureau of Custom’s System Management Division – Technology Management Service) and Mr. George T. Barcelon (chairman of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and by Atty. JJ M. Disini (director of the Technology, Law, and Policy Program of the UP Law Center) who joined the event virtually.
