DivinaLaw Senior Partner Atty. Jay Layug was recently recognized as one of 10 pioneers and inspirational figures in Asia by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) during its 20th anniversary gala dinner in Lisbon, Portugal.
Atty. Layug was recognized for his role as President of the Developers of Renewable Energy for AdvanceMent, Inc. (DREAM) together with fellow Filipino pioneer Atty. Poch Ambrosio, the President of Wind Energy Developers Association of the Philippines (DREAM) and Pilipinas Offshore Wind Energy Resources, Inc. (POWER). They were joined at the event by GWEC Philippine Country Manager Ann Francisco.
In his message before a distinguished audience at the Lisbon EPD Museum, GWEC CEO Ben Backwell cited the roles of Atty. Layug and honorees from China, Japan, Korea, India and Mongolia who have made the wind energy revolution possible and are pointing the way to ‘Wind Energy 2.0’ in the context of global efforts to triple renewable energy.
GWEC is a member-based trade association that represents the entire wind energy sector. The members of GWEC represent over 1,500 companies, organizations and institutions in more than 80 countries.
