On 4 July 2025, The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Hong Kong Stock Exchange) announced the appointment of members to the Listing Committee of the Main Board and GEM (together, the Listing Committee) for this year. Deacons’ Partner and Head of Corporate Finance Practice Group Ronny Chow has been appointed as a new member of the Listing Committee with effect from 4 July 2025.
The Listing Committee acts both as an independent administrative decision maker and an advisory body for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It oversees the Listing Division, provides policy advice to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on listing matters, takes decisions of material significance for listing applicants, listed issuers and the individuals concerned, and acts as a review body.
The Listing Committee consists of 28 members, including, among others, 19 independent individuals whom the Listing Nomination Committee considers will represent a suitable balance of representatives of listed issuers and market practitioners, including lawyers, accountants, corporate finance advisers, and Exchange Participants or officers of Exchange Participant. Ronny is one of the three practising lawyer members of the Listing Committee for this year.
Ronny served as a member of the Listing Review Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the last four years since 9 July 2021.
With over 30 years of experience in the corporate finance field, Ronny’s practice spans across corporate finance and securities work as well as private and public mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. He is particularly well-known for advising on initial public offerings (IPOs) and listings of corporations on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
