Ms. Chen’s practice areas include data asset protection, unfair competition, intellectual property related dispute resolution (with a focus on copyright and trademark), and internet compliance.
Ms. Chen Sijia graduated from China University of Political Science and Law and Southwest University of Political Science and Law. She has a solid legal knowledge and a unique judicial and industry perspective. Ms. Chen served as a judge for many years and was among the first group of judges involved in the establishment of the Beijing Internet Court. She has played a significant role in the development of the internet trial model and has concluded thousands of disputes, laying a strong professional foundation for handling technology-driven legal contests.
During her tenure at the Alibaba Group, Ms. Chen served as the litigation director and compliance expert for their core business units. Her responsibilities went far beyond individual case management, and she constructed standardized litigation risk control mechanisms and compliance frameworks for the core business units. Ms. Chen lead teams to address challenges in data asset disputes, unfair competition, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance within complex business ecosystems like Amap and Alibaba Entertainment. She excels in safeguarding client rights and clarifying industry rules through litigation strategies and is skillful in integrating business logic, technical characteristics, and judicial rules to achieve a balance between legal risks and business value.
Ms. Chen has successfully led litigation cases with rule-defining significance in the field of data rights and competition. She has resolved major commercial disputes through a combination of litigation and non-litigation strategies, and has led numerous judicial cases in new legal disputes, having a profound impact on industry practice. Ms. Chen serves as an arbitrator at the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration and is a practical mentor at various universities. She is a member of many professional committees and actively promotes the integration of legal practice and research.
