Kirkland & Ellis represented The Carlyle Group in the RMB530 million (approximately US$85 million) investment by its RMB fund, Carlyle Beijing Partners Fund, L.P., and affiliates in Beijing Ubox Technology & Trade Co., Ltd, a leading vending machine operator in China. The deal was announced on July 30, 2015.
The Kirkland team was led by Hong Kong corporate partner Frank Sun and included Shanghai litigation partner Tiana Zhang.
