Skadden represented Azure Power Global, an Indian solar power company, in its US IPO listing on the New York Stock Exchange and its concurrent private placement which raised a combined US$125 million. This is the first US IPO of an Indian company in more than four years. The pricing was announced on October 12, 2016. The Skadden team was led by partner Thomas Ivey (Palo Alto) and supported by partner Rajeev Duggal (Singapore). For more information, please see Azure's press release here.
Skadden was also on the most recent US IPO by an Indian company prior to Azure, which was the US$90 million Amira Nature Foods US IPO in 2012, where Skadden served as underwriters' counsel. Skadden regularly represents companies in India, SE Asia and the rest of Asia, as well as underwriters, on US IPOs with listings on the NYSE and NASDAQ.
