Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its global energy group with the addition of Marco Pocci, who joins the firm as a partner in Hong Kong.
Pocci’s practice focuses on energy and infrastructure, advising clients on a wide range of matters including regulatory, contract negotiations, finance and construction. He has particular experience in the renewables space, advising on the development and acquisition of solar and wind farms. His energy sector clients include utilities, independent power producers, energy cooperatives, project developers, financiers, power purchasers, manufacturers, investors and governments.
“China is leading the way in renewable energy and is now the world’s largest producer and exporter of solar panels and wind turbines,” said Voon Keat Lai, Stephenson Harwood’s Greater China Managing Partner. “Marco’s sector knowledge and experience – as well as his specialist renewable energy expertise – enables us to expand our energy practice to support Chinese manufacturers as well as the investors this growing area is attracting.”
Pocci is qualified in the UK and Italy. He is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong and joins Stephenson Harwood from Winston & Strawn.
“The global energy landscape is being transformed in an irreversible way through the rapid growth of renewable energy,” said Tony Edwards, partner and member of Stephenson Harwood’s energy group. “Growing our practice, at a time when we’re seeing a growing need from clients for the type of expertise that Marco has, enables us to enhance the breadth of support we provide to our clients.”
Stephenson Harwood's cross-practice energy group draws on the experience of more than twenty partners from across the firm's international offices. It provides corporate finance, finance, commercial and dispute resolution support to a diverse range of clients with interests in oil and gas, offshore power and renewables and mining and minerals.
