Malaysia has made a pledge alongside world leaders in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development & United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The target is to reduce GHG emissions intensity per GDP by 35% by 2030 relative to the 2005 level and to have renewable energy contribute to 31% of the total energy mix by 2025.
The authors highlight in this infographic a series of existing and upcoming initiatives and programmes introduced by Malaysia in achieving the nation’s green aspiration of sustainability. Moving forward, it is expected that an array of initiatives and programmes would be rolled out by the Government with a focus on sustainable economic recovery, as part of Malaysia’s unwavering commitment in transforming the nation for the better by 2030.
