23 November 2021
Colleagues across all five of MoFo’s Asia offices joined this year’s Pink Friday celebrations on Friday, November 19.
Pink Friday is an Asia-wide celebration of LGBTQ+ inclusion, which first began in 2014 when a group of Goldman Sachs Hong Kong employees wore pink T-shirts to show their support of an LGBT-inclusive work environment. In the following years, it expanded across Goldman Sachs’ Asia Pacific offices and into Europe. In 2019, 60 organizations, including MoFo’s Asia offices, participated in the inaugural multi-industry event led by Goldman Sachs. This year over 80 organizations participated in the event across Asia.
For our 2021 celebrations, MoFo hosted a virtual panel discussion focusing on LGBTQ+ related updates in the region, as well as the importance of allies for diversity and LGBTQ+ inclusion. Speakers included representatives from Goldman Sachs Hong Kong and Goldman Sachs Japan, as well as Ivy Wong, a Shanghai-based expert on diversity, inclusion, and allyship.
After the virtual event, each office hosted their own get-togethers serving pink drinks and snacks. Throughout the day, colleagues were encouraged to wear pink to show visible support for diversity and LGBTQ+ inclusion.
